the European Adder (Vipera berus) is distributed sporadically and obviously it can be met regularly only in the diet of certain Short-toed Eagles pairs in Kiev Region
the Slow Worm (Anguis fragilis) is not too rare in local forests
the Grass Snake (Natrix natrix) is the staple food of Short-toed Eagles because a lot of them live in open wet territories of the Region and they are easy of access. Therefore the Eagles in Kiev Region are more or less connected with wet lands
