07.09 (2) E : the plumage has characters of adult and of young Short-toed Eagle at the same time
11.09 (1) A11 : as well as her partner this Short-toed Eagle female still hunts over the traditional hunting areas within their home range; despite their chick died more than a month ago the pair has not started autumn migration, but the both eagles are already flying fairly actively; also from time to time they demonstrate their rights to the territory to migrating Short-toed Eagles... are they still here for that?
22.09 (1) D : this juvenile Short-toed Eagle is flying better now and seeks to spend as much time as possible in the air
22.09 (2) F : the Short-toed Eagle in the typical second calendar year plumage is starting its migrating flight after spending the night inside an old pine forest; fresh tail feathers have white edges, others don't
22.09 (3) D : the juvenile is crying and flapping its wings; this time the signals are addressed not to its parents, but probably to the migrating Short-toed Eagle from the previous picture which was so careless to perch nearby the breeding site
22.09 (4) D : it is quite dark and spotty, belongs to juveniles of the darker plumage type
22.09 (5) D : neat rows of the new feathers are well seen against the light
22.09 (6) D : the first so-called «saint-spirit-flights»; the photographer is used for the training as a point on the ground to hover over

22.09 (8) D : the silhouette of a juvenile Short-toed Eagle - the inside primaries are noticeably shorter than adults' ones
22.09 (9) K11 : its father has longer inside primaries and the typical adult colouration with greyish fresh flight feathers and brownish old ones; this is the last photos of a Short-toed Eagle this year
