Circaetus gallicus information navigator

Returning to the important topic of correct identification of differently aged Short-toed Eagles in the nature, Gábor Papp has tried to briefly describe the main characters of juvenile, 2, 3 and 4 cy eagles, and also visual differences between adult males and females. His description are illustrated with the corresponding images. Here is two versions of the text, Hungarian and English ones:

The following new paper describes the relation of Short-toed Eagle population to the availability of natural habitats which are being used by them as breeding sites in the Judea region of Israel /map/:

Several new works on Short-toed Eagle have been published and included in Guido Premuda‘s Bibliography (Sunbird.it) this year:

This time fossil remains of an ancient species of Circaetus were found in the vicinity of the Varshets town (Northwestern Bulgaria) /map/. This species had lived in SE Europe about 2.2-2.4 millions of years ago:

A fossil representative of the Circaetus genus was discovered in South-Western Bulgaria /map/. The birds had already lived in ancient Europe more than 7 millions of years ago; although, their origin from Africa is suggested as very probable.
