The long field research on two raptors Short-toed Eagle and Long-legged Buzzard in the Judean Foothills /map/ allowed Guilad Friedemann to prepare his PhD Thesis which was published a few years ago:

The research continues and we are looking forward to new broadcasts, videos and papers shared by the Israeli team.

The Lublin Ornithology Society started their projects on GPS-GSM telemetry of local adult Short-toed Eagles in 2012. Some results of them are available on sites of the society, as well as conservation programs. Just use the Polish name of the species «Gadożer» as a search word to find info regarding Short-toeds in the submitted files:

Also, you can read some fresh news about observations of local Short-toed Eagles on the LTO page on Facebook, and enjoy this short video taken at the nest of a pair where the male is tagged with the GPS-GSM transmitter.

This video footage was taken by Vince Schwartz. It presents the Short-toed Eagle pair nesting in the Visegrád Hills /map/ as well as the hunting of the male of an immature pair settled in the neighbouring Pilis Hills /map/ in 2018.

The next recently published article is dedicated to tracking a breeding attempt of Short-toed Eagles in the Canton of Ticino /map/:

The record of successful breeding after the long absence of such data for central southern Switzerland can be considered as an evidence of Short-toed Eagle spread in Switzerland and northern Italy in recent years.
